Our chapters support charities locally, across Ohio, and through General Grand Chapter. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, reflects our commitment to serving others.

We raise funds and awareness for organizations that breed, train, and place service dogs, helping people with disabilities, children, and veterans live with greater independence.
Regenerative medicine
Members support the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine and its work toward new ways to repair and replace damaged tissues and organs.
Alzheimer’s research and support
Chapters raise funds and participate in local Walk to End Alzheimer’s events, supporting research, care, and families affected by dementia.
Religious leadership scholarships
Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership (ESTARL) help people preparing for religious service. Ohio has given these awards since 1955. Applications are sponsored through local chapters.
Youth and education
We support Rainbow for Girls, Job’s Daughters, and DeMolay through educational scholarships and participation in charitable projects and activities.
Benevolence
Ohio Grand Chapter maintains a fund to provide short-term emergency assistance to members facing a crisis. Contact your Chapter Secretary for the process.
Children’s Dyslexia Centers
We support the work of the Scottish Rite Children’s Dyslexia Centers, which provide free, individual reading instruction for children.
Cancer and heart charities
Chapters support research, awareness, and services for people and families affected by cancer and cardiovascular conditions.
Ohio Eastern Star Home
Our senior living community in Mount Vernon offers connection and support for older adults. The 2027 project is the Dog Park at Pine Hill, a safe and welcoming place for residents and their pets.
Ohio Masonic Communities
Members support and spend time with residents of Browning, Springfield, and Western Reserve Masonic Communities.
Shriners Children’s
We support pediatric specialty care and research that help children and their families, regardless of their ability to pay.
Local kindness
Food drives, support for active military and veterans, first responders, shelters, scholarships, and children’s programs are among the ways chapters respond to local needs.
2027 Special projects
Care close to home.
This year’s special projects support drug and alcohol rehabilitation organizations in our communities and the Ohio Bird Sanctuary in Mansfield. Chapters also support the Dog Park at Pine Hill project at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
